Iranian Border Guard Succumbs to Injuries After Clashes with Terrorists


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Border Police confirmed the martyrdom of another soldier who was injured during a Wednesday fight with terrorists at the Baneh border crossing in western Iran.

Border Police Commander in Kurdistan Province Brigadier General Mohammad Aref Sepehri told Tasnim on Friday that Jalal Etemad, who had bravely stood alongside martyr Farzin Belyan, ultimately succumbed to the injuries sustained in the line of duty.

The incident occurred following an attack on the guard tower at the Baneh border crossing, resulting in the martyrdom of conscript Farzin Belyan.

Belyan's funeral took place on Friday, attended by families of martyrs, various community members, and military officials.

The Wednesday attack, originating from unknown positions along the common border, targeted Iranian border guards at the Hangeh-ye Zhal border post, killed a serviceman and injured two soldiers and another staff member.
