Pezeshkian Urges Muslim Unity, Raps Israeli Crimes in Talks with Foreign Leaders

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In conversations with the leaders of Muslim countries on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed the need for solidarity among the Islamic nations and denounced the Zionist regime’s atrocities in Palestine.

In a telephone conversation on Thursday, Pezeshkian and his Turkmen counterpart Serdar Berdimuhamedow emphasized the need to expand bilateral relations and foster solidarity among the Muslim nations to promote peace and stand against the atrocities of the Zionist regime.

The Iranian president also highlighted the significance of Eid al-Adha as a symbol of unity, brotherhood, and spiritual bonds among Muslim nations, expressing hope that the auspicious occasion would strengthen solidarity among the Islamic countries.

In another conversation with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Pezeshkian underscored the need to strengthen relations among the Islamic countries, consolidate unity within the Islamic Ummah, and support the oppressed Palestinian nation in their struggle against the Israeli crimes.

He also expressed hope that the Hajj pilgrimage and Eid al-Adha would foster greater brotherhood and expand interaction among the Muslim states, resulting in peace, security, and increased welfare for all Islamic nations.

The Iranian president also spoke with his Tunisian counterpart Kais Saied on Thursday. He described the Hajj pilgrimage as a symbol of sacrificing carnal desires and overcoming satanic temptations, expressing hope that this occasion would foster intimacy among Muslim nations and bring prosperity and tranquility to the Islamic Ummah.

In another conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Pezeshkian stated that the Muslims must exchange experiences, leverage shared capacities, and pursue development-oriented synergy to become examples of brotherhood and constructive interactions on the international stage.

In a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the Saudi government for organizing the Hajj pilgrimage and hosting Iranian pilgrims during this important Islamic ritual, and highlighted the importance of unity among Muslim nations.

Pezeshkian also expressed hope that the religious bond will inspire greater cohesion among the Islamic countries and elevate the dignity of the Islamic Ummah.

He noted that Iran is ready to expand friendly and brotherly ties with all Muslim nations, especially Saudi Arabia.

Iran is determined to deepen cooperation with Islamic countries in all areas and to help ensure peace, security, and welfare for Muslim nations, as well as to secure the shared interests of the Islamic Ummah, he told the Saudi crown prince.

In another telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Pezeshkian characterized Iran-Turkey relations as strong and emphasized that Iran is prepared to consolidate and expand its ties with the Islamic nations, particularly Turkey.

The Iranian president also had phone calls with Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
