Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference on Military Medicine of the Armed Forces of SCO Member States, held in Tehran on Monday, Deputy Chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari referred to the 12-day war imposed on Iran in June and emphasized that valuable lessons were learned from the conflict, which have contributed to enhancing the combat readiness of the Armed Forces.
He stated that since the end of the war, Iran has consistently pursued the development of its defense power.
Given the fact that threats are constantly changing, Iran must remain fully prepared to confront them, he noted, adding that upgrading capabilities in ground, air, air defense, naval, and cyber domains remains among the top priorities of the Iranian Army.
The commander noted that Iran’s current state of readiness is at a very high level and reaffirmed the country’s determination to continue strengthening its defense capabilities to ensure full preparedness against future threats.
He pointed to Iran’s participation in the international conferences on maritime security and trade routes, stating that the Islamic Republic has played a significant role in ensuring security in the northern Indian Ocean through the effective employment of its naval capabilities.
