Hassan Salarieh announced that the satellites Zafar-2, Paya, and the second batch of Kosar satellites would be launched in the near future.
Speaking at the opening of the Omid Media Festival in Semnan province, Salarieh said the launches mark continued rapid progress in Iran’s space industry.
He highlighted that the country now builds satellites with imaging resolution of one meter or better.
Salarieh noted Iran’s strong capabilities in satellite manufacturing, launch infrastructure, and human resources.
He said the Chabahar spaceport, one of the most important launch centers in West Asia, began construction in 2023 and will conduct its first test launch next year.
The official also pointed to recent milestones, including the first fully private-sector satellite launch in November 2024, when the Russian-launched Kosar-1 and Hodhod satellites reached orbit.
In December 2024, the Simorgh launcher successfully placed a 300 kg satellite into orbit, he added.
Salarieh said the second Kosar satellite, developed by the private sector, was unveiled in September 2025 and is scheduled for launch.
He stressed that Iran’s space industry progress continues at pace thanks to domestic expertise and growing international cooperation, including joint lunar and space resource programs with China.
