DM Pledges Iran’s Proper Response to Enemies' Insane Moves

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan warned the enemies that any wrong action against the country will be met with Tehran’s appropriate response.

“Any rude action and any insanity shown by the US and the West will receive a proper response,” Dehqan told reporters in the southwestern province of Khuzestan on Thursday.

Commenting on the major military exercises held by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in south and southwest of the country, Dehqan said the war games clearly demonstrated Iran’s capability to ensure security in the region, meaning that there is no need for foreigners' presence in the region.

He underlined that the drills also conveyed the message of peace for the regional countries.

The regional countries can form a coalition to ensure security in the region, and will not tolerate the presence of foreigners in the region under any circumstances, the minister added.

Units from the IRGC Navy, Ground Force and Aerospace Division took part in three-day exercises, codenamed The Great Prophet-9, in south of Iran. The drills came to an end on Friday.

Back on February 23, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said findings of a survey shows that the majority of Iranians are confident that enemies will receive a proper response from the country’s Armed Forces.

Iran’s military officials say any threat to the country will be doomed to failure since the Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the country and their missiles are capable enough to rain down on any target at any distance.

In November 2014, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity for incessant progress of the Iranian Armed Forces irrespective of the political developments.
