Israel Incompetent to Comment on Peace: Iran’s President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani hit back on Wednesday at the Israeli prime minister’s anti-Iran claims, saying the Tel Aviv regime that has blood of Gazan children on its hands is in no position to comment on the regional peace.

“This regime (Israel), itself the most criminal and in fact a terrorist government, today talks about peace and the future threats, while it has posed the biggest threat to the region,” President Rouhani said in a Wednesday session of the cabinet.

He was reacting to a speech to the US Congress by Netanyahu, who warned of a “very bad” nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers, accused Tehran of seeking a nuclear bomb, and proposed the idea of war on Iran as an alternative to a deal.

“The claims against Iran are raised by a regime which invades its neighboring countries time and again in a year and slaughters innocent people, and a regime that shoots down children in Gaza,” Rouhani added.

He said the whole world is glad to see progress in the nuclear talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), except the “aggressor and occupying” regime of Israel whose existence is bound to war and aggression.

The president also gave an assurance that Iran sticks to negotiation with the world powers on the basis of “goodwill for goodwill, sincerity for sincerity, reliance for reliance and trust for trust.”

Iran and the Group 5+1 (also known as the P5+1 or E3+3) are in talks to hammer out a final agreement to end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran’s civilian nuclear energy program.

The new round of talks has begun in Switzerland with the aim of narrowing down the remaining differences ahead of a deadline for a final agreement by July 1.
