Iranian Speaker Urges Unity among Muslims

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined that Muslim countries should promote unity to resolve the problems facing the Islamic community.

Speaking at a ceremony on Wednesday, Larijani pointed to rifts among Muslim states after World War II, saying that the countries should strengthen unity and act as “members of one body” to settle differences.

“Therefore until the problems (rifts) are not resolved, the problems facing all the Muslim Ummah (community) will not be settled,” he added.

In relevant remarks on Tuesday, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said in a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan here in Tehran that the US and Zionists are happy today about the internal rift among Muslim countries.

The leader called on the Islamic states to “boost cooperation and take proper and constructive practical measures” to resolve these differences.
