Deadly Explosion Hits Restaurant in Somali Capital

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - At least four people were killed and 10 others wounded when a car rammed into a busy restaurant and exploded in the Somali capital Mogadishu, local sources told Al Jazeera.

The blast on Tuesday targeted the Bonoodo restaurant located near the city's Central Hotel, which was the scene of a deadly attack  in February.

At least 25 people were killed in that attack, including two members of parliament.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Tuesday's attack, but it bore the hallmarks of al-Shabab, which routinely carries out attacks in Mogadishu and elsewhere in Somalia.

At least seven people were killed Monday when an al-Shabab bomb exploded in a UN van in the northern region of Puntland.
