Iran, Italy Confer on Expansion of Economic Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and Italy’s Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi explored avenues for the promotion of industrial and trade ties between the two countries.

Tehran and Rome will pave the ground for the expansion of their industrial, economic, and trade ties by exchanging technical delegations, Nematzadeh said in his meeting with Guidi in Milan, Italy.

The Iranian minister also expressed the hope for further official efforts to reinforce economic and trade ties between the two countries.

Guidi, for her part, underscored Italy’s willingness to expand its bilateral relations with Iran.

Nematzadeh also held a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Rachmat Gobel, during which the two sides discussed the expansion of trade and economic relations between Tehran and Jakarta.

The Iranian minister held the meetings on the sidelines of the ongoing Expo 2015.

Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Milan, Italy, has been hosting since May 1 to October 31, 2015. Over this six-month period, Milan will become a global showcase where more than 140 participating countries will show the best of their technology that offers a concrete answer to a vital need: being able to guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, while respecting the Planet and its equilibrium.

By making a special pavilion in this year’s Expo in Milan, Iran has provided a good opportunity for the foreign visitors, investors, and tourists to get acquainted with its products.

With an expected 20 million visitors in 1.1 million square meters of the exhibition area, Expo Milan serves as a significant opportunity to attract more foreign tourists to Iran.
