Asian Men's Beach Handball Championship: Iran Beats Vietnam
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Vietnam 2-0 in the 5th Asian Men's Beach Handball Championship.
Iran started the campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Pakistan.
The event features six teams in the men's section while five teams vie for the top honor in the women's category.
The Asian Men's Beach Handball Championship serves as a qualifying tournament for the next world championship which will be held in Budapest, Hungary.
The Iranian team will also play Oman, Qatar and Bahrain in a round-robin format.
In the women's category the teams participating are Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, Turkmenistan and Jordan.
The fifth Asian Men's and Women's Beach Handball Championships got underway at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC) in Muscat from May 1-7.
