Nasrallah: Hezbollah Will Face, Defeat Terrorists in Qalamoun

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Hezbollah Secretary General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah asserted that the party will move to face the terrorist threat in Qalamoun barrens regardless of the Lebanese consensus which has never been available during the resistance movement battles against the enemy.

"If we had waited for the national consensus to face the terrorists, the takfiri groups would have reached many of the Lebanese areas," he said.

In a televised speech broadcast live on Al-Manar TV channel on Tuesday, Seyed Nasrallah said the terrorist threat is represented by occupying Lebanese territories in Arsal, attacking the Lebanese Army, assaulting the Lebanese civilians, kidnapping the Lebanese soldiers as well as threatening their parents to kill them, and bombarding the whole area in Bekaa.

He added that the state is clearly unable to assume its responsibilities and that Hezbollah is ready to support it if it does.

Seyed Nasrallah pointed out that the battle, as well as all its details, will be announced when it starts and that Hezbollah will not issue any statement in this regard, Al-Manar reported.

Seyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah will defeat the terrorist groups in the upcoming battle though he has never revealed its details, noting that the battlefield developments in the other Syrian provinces do not affect Qalamoun's confrontation.

On the Syrian developments, Nasrallah said that a psychological warfare has recently been launched, spreading the rumors which aim at weakening the determination, will and steadfastness of the Syrians and at attaining what a 4-year global war on Syria has failed to reach.

"We must not care for those rumors which have been spread since the beginning of the Syrian crisis."

Refuting the rumors, Nasrallah emphasized that Iran will never abandon its allies, including Syria, despite the nuclear talks.

He called on examining what happened in Jisr al-Shoghour, which was controlled by the terrorist groups few days ago, from a militarily point of view, considering that losing a battle does not mean losing the whole war.

"The Syrian state and army are strong and they can change the battlefield conditions," Seyed Nasrallah said, adding, "The Syrians must be sure that Hezbollah will always support them and that he will be where he must be to defend Syria and all the Ummah."
