Muslim Solidarity Key to Palestine’s Liberation: Iran’s Velayati

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran's Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati described Muslim unity and continued fight against aggressors as the only way toward the liberation of Palestine and the Gaza Strip.

“The way of saving Palestine is to create solidarity with the other Muslim countries and to battle for liberation of Palestine,” Velayati said in a meeting with the chairman and members of Iran-Palestine friendship society, held in Tehran on Thursday.

He also underlined Iran’s support for the axis of resistance, which he said is not confined to Palestine, but includes other countries in the region as well.

“We are confident that the axis of resistance, which begins from Iran and stretches into Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine would emerge victorious, God willing .”

“The way for saving Gaza is not compromise with those who impose blockade (Israel), but is battle and resistance,” Velayati added.

Iranian officials have time and again restated the country’s commitment to helping the anti-Israeli resistance movement, no matter Shiite or Sunni Muslims stand against the Tel Aviv regime’s brutal acts.

Back in January, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined Iran's determination to continue support for the Palestinian cause until its materialization.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran will remain resolved (in its support) until the day that the cause of Palestine is materialized," Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with Head of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine–General Command (PFLP-GC) Ahmed Jibril in Tehran.

The Leader also noted that the issue of Palestine is among the top issues of the whole Islamic world.
