Iran Claims FINA World Water Polo Development Trophy Title
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran won the title of the 5th FINA World Water Polo Development Trophy on Friday after defeating Uruguay in the final match.
Team Melli beat the South American team 13-5 in Tehran’s Shiroudi Stadium.
“We defeated a good team in the final match. Thanks to all the fans that supported us during the competition,” Iran coach Sirous Taherian said in the post match news conference.
In the bronze medal match, Austria defeated Malta 9-7.
The six-day competition brought 10 teams together.
