FIVB World League: Iran Loses to USA
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian national volleyball team was defeated against USA 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23) in Pool B of the 2015 FIVB World League on Sunday.
Shahram Mahmoudi led Iran with 17 points and Taylor Sander scored 19 points for USA.
Two teams have been scheduled to meet on Monday.
United States and Iran had met once before in the World League. United States beat Iran in straight sets in the 2014 semifinal.
Both teams also met in the first round of the 2014 World Championships when Iran proved too strong for United States in five sets.
Matthew Anderson and Saeid Marouf are teammates at Zenit Kazan.
Defending champion USA participate in its 18th World League. They have won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals in its previous participations.
