Iran Coach Kovac Calls US "World’s Best Volleyball Team"
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national volleyball team head coach Slobodan Kovac said that the US is the best volleyball team in the world.
Iran has been scheduled to play USA in week 6 of the FIVB Volleyball World League in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, which seats close to 12,000, is expected to be full to capacity.
“First of all, I am happy there are no limitations in sport and countries like Iran and USA can meet together,” Kovac said in the pre-match news conference.
“USA is the best current team in the world but we play in home and want to show a good performance in front of 12,000 spectators,” the Serbian coach added.
“Those who think we must defeat USA have no a good understanding of volleyball but we will do our best to beat them,” he said.
