Iran's Rouhani Congratulates Democratic Republic of Congo on National Day
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday congratulated the nation and government of Democratic Republic of the Congo on the occasion of the country’s National Day.
In a message to President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Joseph Kabila , Rouhani expressed the hope that ties between the two countries would expand in line with the mutual interests.
He also wished health and success for the government and nation of Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Democratic Republic of the Congo Independence Day is a national holiday, which is celebrated to commemorate the country's liberation from Belgium in 1960.
The day is observed on June 30 every year. The people of Democratic Republic of the Congo think of it as the most important occasion in their life.
Democratic Republic of the Congo was a colony of Belgium from 1908 to 1960.
