Iran, Morocco Urge Higher Levels of Mutual Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Moroccan Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mbarka Bouaida explored avenues for closer cooperation between the two Islamic countries.

In a Tuesday phone conversation, the two sides discussed the latest developments in bilateral ties and the growing trend of Tehran-Rabat cooperation.

Amir Abdollahian and Bouaida also expressed their pleasure over the reopening of the two countries’ embassies, and stressed the necessity for the development of bilateral political and economic ties.

The two sides also urged further efforts to promote the existing level of mutual cooperation between the two Islamic countries.

The remarks came a few days after Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said Iran is determined to strengthen cordial relations with North African countries, particularly Morocco, based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs of each country.

She noted that the reopening of Iran’s embassy in Morocco and the appointment of a new ambassador to the North African country show Tehran’s determination to broaden relation with Rabat in all fields.
