83% of Reporters in Vienna Say Iran Nuclear Deal Will Occur: Tasnim Poll

VIENNA (Tasnim) – A Tasnim poll of journalists covering the nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers in the Austrian capital shows more than 80 percent believe that a final agreement will be struck.

The poll, conducted by Tasnim reporters in Vienna, shows that 83.5 percent of all respondents (158 journalists) say Iran and the six nations will work out the long-awaited deal in the ongoing round of high-profile diplomatic talks in Vienna.

Of all the poll's respondents, 12.6 percent said the nuclear agreement will not be reached, while 3.7 percent believed the negotiations will be extended once again.

64 percent of those who said the deal will be worked out mentioned that “Wednesday” will be the historic day of the agreement.

The poll of 189 people was conducted in Vienna on Monday. Respondents were journalists covering the nuclear talks, coming from Iran, Russia, China, Britain, Japan, France, the US, Germany, Spain, Qatar, and Austria.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France, and Germany) have been negotiating over the past 22 months to end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's civilian nuclear program once and for all.

They are busy negotiating in Vienna to clinch a comprehensive nuclear deal. Last week, the parties gave themselves an extra week beyond an end-June deadline to nail down details of the long-awaited accord.

Earlier on Monday, a source familiar with the negotiations said the final deadline for the comprehensive accord could fall on late Wednesday or the early hours of Thursday, July 9.
