Islamic Jihad Hails Iran's Continued Supports for Palestine

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior leader of Palestine's Islamic Jihad Movement praised Iran for its continued supports for the Palestinian nation, as the Islamic Republic is preparing to hold nationwide rallies this Friday to mark the International Quds Day.

Speaking to Al-Alam Arabic language news network, Khader Habib said Iran has played a significant role in supporting the issue of Palestine and occupied al-Quds in particular.

He further called on Muslim and Arab nations to continue supporting Palestine and the Resistance Movement.

Back in January, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined Iran's determination to continue support for the Palestinian cause.

The International Quds Day is annually celebrated on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The event's overarching theme is support for the Palestinians and fierce denunciation of Israel.

The day is also seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
