Iran Nuclear Deal to Improve Regional Security: Speaker

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said a possible nuclear agreement between Tehran and six world powers will serve regional security and also bring about calmness in the international scene.

"Everyone knows that an international consensus on Iran's nuclear issue would bring about security for the entire region and create calm in the international scene as well," Larijani said in Tehran on Tuesday, while addressing a gathering of activists and organizations supporting Palestine.

Pointing to the diplomatic negotiations between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on a lasting deal over Tehran's civilian nuclear program, Larijani further lashed out at the Tel Aviv regime for its attempts to derail the talks.

The "wicked role" of the Zionist regime of Israel in attempting to obstruct the course of the nuclear negotiations is obvious, the Iranian speaker added, making a reference to the constant expression of concern by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about a final deal on Iran's peaceful nuclear program.

In his latest comments on Monday, Netanyahu, irked by progress in the nuclear talks, said, "This deal as far as we can see comes on almost daily concessions from the P5+1 to growing Iranian demands. Every day more concessions are made, and every day the deal becomes worse and worse."

The comments by the prime minister of the increasingly isolated regime of Israel come as diplomats from Iran and the Group 5+1 (alternatively known as the P5+1 or E3+3) are racing to secure a final nuclear agreement in Vienna.

Last week, the parties gave themselves an extra week beyond an end-June deadline to nail down details of the long-awaited accord.
