Source Rejects Claims about Iran's Role in Foiled Terrorist Plot in Jordan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An informed source at Iran's Foreign Ministry dismissed as "baseless" a report carried by Jordan's Al Rai newspaper alleging that the suspect in a recent foiled terrorist plot in the kingdom had links with Iran.

The Iranian source on Tuesday denied the allegations raised by the Jordanian newspaper, stressing that Tehran's principled and unchanged policy is based on full respect for the security, stability, and territorial integrity of the regional countries.

Iran will spare no efforts in that regard, the source added.

The comments came after Jordan's state-run Al Rai newspaper reported that the Arab country's security forces have arrested a man with purported links to an Iranian group on suspicion he planned to carry out a terrorist attack in Jordan.

Al Rai and the state news agency Petra alleged that the suspect has ties with an Iranian group called Beit Al-Maqdis, but did not elaborate.
