Rouhani Hopes Nuclear Talks' Outcome Will Benefit Iranian Nation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's President Hassan Rouhani expressed the hope that the results of nuclear talks between Tehran and world powers will be good for the Iranian nation.

"These negotiations are in sensitive stages," the president said upon returning from a trip to Russia, adding, "God-willing, what is good for our people will be realized (in the talks)."

He also appreciated the efforts made by the Iranian team of negotiators in the ongoing nuclear talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna.

Diplomats from Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) have been in Vienna in the past few weeks to hammer out a lasting agreement over Tehran's nuclear energy program.

Elsewhere in his remarks upon arrival in Tehran, President Rouhani referred to his bilateral talks with the leaders of Russia, India, China, Belarus and Afghanistan during his Russian visit, saying that ways for expansion of bilateral ties were discussed in these meetings.

The Iranian chief executive paid a two-day visit to Russia to attend the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summits in the city of Ufa.

His trip came at the official invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
