Iran's Deputy FM Calls for Expansion of Tehran-Copenhagen Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi highlighted the need for the enhancement of ties between Iran and Denmark in various fields.

Speaking in a meeting with outgoing Danish Ambassador to Iran Anders Christian Hougaard, Sarmadi said with the recent conclusion of nuclear talks between Iran and world powers, there is a better perspective for the development and deepening of the two countries' relations.

He went on to say that with the newly-created atmosphere (following the nuclear deal), efforts should be made by the two countries for boosting bilateral cooperation in different economic, cultural, scientific and academic fields.

Sarmadi further appreciated Hougaard's efforts during his five-year tenure as the Danish ambassador to the Islamic Republic.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program.

The comprehensive nuclear deal would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.

That is expected to result in a hike in Iran's trade and bilateral relations with different states, including European countries like Denmark.
