Muslim Doctors Conference to Promote Islamic World's Medical Level: Iran's Velayati

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening Ali Akbar Velayati on Thursday said the ongoing conference of Muslim physicians in Iran will promote the Islamic countries' medical level.

Top medical professors from countries around the globe have attended this conference to present their latest achievements, studies and experience in the field of medicine, Velayati said at the opening ceremony of the conference of Muslim physicians in Iran's northeastern city of Mashhad.

"The promotion of medical level in the Muslim world with the cooperation of Iran would be an achievement of the conference…," the Iranian official, who serves as the organizer of the conference, said.

The Muslim Doctors Conference was inaugurated on Thursday with over 400 Muslim physicians and academics from all around the world in attendance, Velayati said.

Sponsored by the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Supreme Leader's works, World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, and the Ahl ul-Bayt World Assembly, the conference will be held in three cities of Mashhad, Tehran, and Shiraz mainly in cooperation with the cities' universities of medical sciences.

Participants will also exchange views on Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei's important letter to European and North American youths.

In a historic letter on January 21, Imam Khamenei asked Western youth to try to gain a direct and firsthand knowledge of the religion in reaction to the flood of prejudgments and disinformation campaigns.
