Senior Official Says JCPOA Will Improve Iran’s Capabilities

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi referred to the text of the nuclear deal finalized by Tehran and world powers as an opportunity for Iran to boost its regional, economic, and defense capabilities.

Iran’s enemies exploited the nuclear issue and put major obstacles in the way of Tehran and others, Araqchi said in a Sunday session in the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy commission in Tehran.

He said the obstacles that undermined Iran’s economic ties with other countries will be removed after the implementation of the nuclear agreement.

“The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will provide a good opportunity for Islamic Republic of Iran to reinforce its economic, regional, and defense capabilities,” Araqchi stressed.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program.

The comprehensive nuclear deal between Iran and the six powers would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.

Experts believe that Iran's economic growth would rise remarkably after the final nuclear deal takes effect.

Since the conclusion of Vienna talks, several high-ranking trade delegations from Germany, France, Italy, and Japan have come to Iran and several others including those of Spain and Poland are due to arrive in Tehran in the near future.
