French Plot to Partition Libya Disclosed

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – France, in partnership with an Arab littoral state of the Persian Gulf, is involved in a plot to rip Libya apart and gain control of a new disintegrated country in the south, Libyan sources said.

Algeria’s al-Shorouk newspaper quoted unnamed Libyan sources as saying that the French plot is being carried out under the guise of meetings between a number of commanders in south of Libya –including military and police officers and prominent tribal figures - and some Arab countries.

The meetings are said to be part of a plan to unify southern Libya for the settlement of the country’s problems, but are in fact a French-masterminded plot to disintegrate Libya and establish a colonial-era system, it added.

According to the report, the two new countries after partition of Libya will be called al-Tuareg and al-Tabu, with respective capitals of Ubari and Murzuq.

African nationalities will be given prominence compared to the Arab descent in the new countries, it noted.

The paper also cited political activists as saying that the unnamed Persian Gulf littoral Arab country is definitely the United Arab Emirates, making a reference to Abu Dhabi’s past cooperation with France in Mali.

Libya is in chaos as two governments and parliaments vie for power, while Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group and other militants exploit a security vacuum four years after the ousting of Muammar Gaddafi.

The United Nations brought the main warring factions together in Geneva last week. They agreed on Wednesday to end the crisis within weeks, the UN said in a statement.
