Nuclear Deal Fresh Opportunity to Boost Iran’s Ties with World: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President’s Chief of Staff Mohammad Nahavandian hailed the recent conclusion of nuclear talks with six world powers, describing the agreement as a new opportunity for the promotion of Tehran’s relations with other nations.

“The nuclear deal is a fresh opportunity for the expansion of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and world countries, Oman in particular, in all spheres,” Nahavandian said in a Wednesday meeting with Omani Ambassador to Tehran Saud bin Ahmed bin Khalid Al Barwani.

He further called Oman a “friend and brotherly” country, saying that Tehran and Muscat have enjoyed a high level of relations in diverse areas, particularly over the past two years.

The Iranian official stressed the need to boost economic cooperation between the two countries’ private sectors, saying that the time is now ripe for the expansion of ties in various areas, including transportation.

Barwani, for his part, highlighted the history of good relations between Iran and Oman and underlined his country’s resolve to expand relations with the Islamic Republic.

He also said the Iran nuclear agreement will open a window of opportunity for closer economic ties.

Oman had a role in brokering the negotiations between Iran and world powers.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.

The negotiating parties reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on the nuclear issue after 22 months of talks.
