Iran U-23 Volleyball Team Needs Friendly, Coach Akbari Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's U-23 Volleyball coach Peyman Akbari rued his side's lack of preparatory matches after losing to Italy in the FIVB Men’s U-23 World Championship.
Iran was defeated against Italy 3-1 (25-23, 15-25, 25-17, 26-24) in Pool A in Dubai, the UAE.
“I think that the experience of our players is much more less than the Italian players. We haven't any friendly matches before we come here,” Akbari said in the post-match news conference.
“Our experience is very limited I think that our team now is weaker than it was before especially after the injury of our players,” he added.
