William Jones Cup Basketball: Iran Defeats S. Korea
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national basketball team defeated South Korea 77-46 in its opening match of the 2015 William Jones Cup.
Mohammad Jamshidi led Iran with 13 points and Sungmin Cho scored 15 points for the Korean team.
The Iranian team will play Chinese Taipei B on Sunday.
The 2015 William Jones Cup kicked off in Taipei on August 29 and will finish on September 6.
Iran is preparing for 2015 FIBA Asia Championship which will be held in at Changsha, China, from September 23 to October 3.
William Jones Cup is an international basketball tournament held annually in Taipei. It was named after Renato William Jones, a basketball performer and one of the founders of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
