Iranian Minister in Russia to Attend Moscow Int’l Book Fair

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati on Wednesday arrived in the Russian capital to attend and deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF).

Jannati’s speech at the ceremony is scheduled to be delivered after that of the chairman of Russia’s Duma (parliament), Ali Shahramnia, manager of Iran’s pavilion in the MIBF, said.

In this edition of the MIBF, Iran is the guest of honor with a free area of 300 square meters dedicated to Iranian cultural bodies present in the fair to hold workshops on Persian calligraphy, miniature, and music.

On the sidelines of the event, which will last until September 7, a special program titled “A Day for Iran” will be held on September 5.

During A Day for Iran, a number of Iranian books translated into Russian are scheduled to be unveiled, several Russian Iranologists will be honored, and renowned Iranian musician Keyvan Saket will have a live performance, among other programs.

The Moscow International Book Fair was established in 1977 and is an official member of the International Organization of Book Publishers.
