Iran Downs Guam in World Cup Qualifier
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national football team defeated Guam 6-0 in the 2018 World Cup qualifier in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Thursday.
Ashkan Dejagah opened the scoring from the penalty spot just after 10 minutes.
Mehdi Taremi made it 2-0 in the 31st minute and Rostov striker Sardar Azmoun was on target twice in the 34th and 41st minutes.
Persepolis striker Taremi scored once again in the 65th minute and substitute Mehdi Torabi scored Iran’s sixth goal in the 89th minute.
Azmoun was selected as the Man of the Match.
Guam stays at the top of Group D with six points from three games.
Iran is second with four points from two matches.
