Iran’s Soryan Not among Greco-Roman World Rankings’ Top 20
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – There is no place for Hamid Soryan from Iran in the United World Wrestling rankings in Greco-Roman released on Thursday.
Six-time world and Olympics champion in the 59kg weight class, Soryan was disqualified for head-butting Rovshan Bayramov in the 2015 World Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas in early September.
London 2012 Olympic Games gold medalist Ghasem Rezaei from Iran moved to second place in the 98kg category.
In the freestyle rankings, Iran’s Hassan Rahimi in the 57kg and Hassan Yazdani in the 70kg are second.
Also, Seyed Ahmad Mohammadi in the 65kg and Alireza Karimi in the 86kg are third both.
Wrestlers in the rankings are listed by name, country code, most notable or most recent result over the last 12 months, and their position in the previous rankings.
