IPC President Craven Sends Warm Message to Iranian Disabled Athletes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Sir Philip Craven, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), in a message to Iran's disabled people, congratulated the National Paralympic Day.

Eight-thousand children with an impairment were in attendance to celebrate National Paralympic Day at the Azadi Sports Complex in Tehran, Iran on Monday.

“I want to say that the National Paralympic Committee of Iran is a very important NPC in the Paralympic family and I wish them and every person that can experience Para sports in the country a great day,” Craven said.

“I just want to add also that I think it's tremendous the way that Para sport in Iran has been regionalized into each of regions; I think there are 31 regions in the country and particularly I just want to say that I used the nation as an example for Kazakhstan when I spoke to the National Paralympic Committee there and the need in any big geographic nation to split down the development to sport, regionally,” he added.
