Iran Sinks Philippines at IWBF Asia-Oceania Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran overpowered the Philippines 100-41 in the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Asia-Oceania Championship on Monday.
Vahid Gholamzad was Iran’s top scorer with 41 points in the match held at Chiba, Japan.
Rene Macabenguil led the Philippines with 15 points.
Iran is scheduled to face Chinese Taipei on Tuesday.
The Championship is being held at the Chiba Port Arena, Japan from October 7 to 18.
There are twelves men’s teams competing for three spots and three women’s teams competing for one spot to Rio 2016.
