Syria’s Ancient City of Palmyra in Post-ISIL Era

DAMASCUS (Tasnim) - Syrian Ancient city of Palmyra otherwise known as Pearl of Desert served as the capital of the Palmyrene Kingdom during the 3rd century AD. In late March 2016, Palmyra was recaptured by the Syrian Army after an offensive to rescue the city from ISIL (also Daesh).
