Carrying Torches Part of Muharram Mourning Rites in Tehran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shiite Muslims in a southern neighborhood of Tehran, with a population of predominantly Iraqi origin, carry torches on three nights in the lunar calendar month of Muharram to perform mourning rites in commemoration of Imam Hussein (AS).
