Nowruz Celebrated with Cultural Traditions in Iran’s Azarbaijan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Takam-Chis in Iran’s Azarbaijan keep a folklore tradition alive. Takam is the king of goats and is represented by wooden ornamented effigies that serve as a herald for the coming of spring and Nowruz. Takam effigies are manipulated to dance on planks by people known as Takam-Chi.
