Iran’s FM Calls for Action against Israel's Expansionism

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi warned about the Zionist regime of Israel’s expansionist policies in Palestinian territories and called for global action against the regime’s atrocities.

“We call on all governments, nations as well as freedom and justice-seeking figures in the world to act against the expansionist measures and intentions of the Zionist regime (of Israel) across the occupied territories, particularly in al-Quds (Jerusalem),” Salehi said on Monday.

In his message to the International Conference on Palestine as the Axis of Unity of the Muslim World, the Iranian foreign minister regarded Israel’s policy for Judaization of al-Quds and the demolition of al-Aqsa mosque as a threat to the interests of Palestinians, the Muslim world, and the common heritage of humanity.

Salehi also called on all Palestinians to understand the current juncture and unite against their main enemy, namely the Zionist regime of Israel.

The Palestine conference comes a few days ahead of the International Quds Day on Friday.

In August 1979, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as the International Quds Day, and called on Muslims across the world to hold rallies to show their solidarity with Palestinians.

Millions of people around the world pour into the streets on this day in a show of support for the people of Palestine, and to call for an end to Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
