S. African Delegation Visits Iran’s Northern Province

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A South African delegation, led by that country’s ambassador to Iran, arrived in Iran’ northern Mazandaran province on Tuesday morning.

The South African Ambassador William Max Whitehead arrived in Sari along with a delegation comprised of a number of his colleagues at the embassy.

Head of the Public Relations of Mazandaran Bureau of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Seyed Mohammad Hossein Hasheminasab said that the South African delegation would learn about the province’s natural, tourism and agricultural potentials.

They will also have meetings with the provincial officials and exporters, according to the official.

Several South African companies are involved in major projects in Iran. MTN Group has a 49-percent stake in the Irancell consortium which was awarded the second mobile telecommunications license in Iran. It started operations in October 2006.
