Lavrov: Iran’s Participation in Geneva-2 Conference Compulsory
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that Iran’s participation in the Geneva-2 international conference on Syria is compulsory.
He made this statement after a meeting with his Kuwait counterpart Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Moscow.
At the same time, Lavrov called on taking disciplinary actions against those who oppose holding the peace conference on Syria, the website of Russia Radio reported.
According to Lavrov, some countries not only do not support the Geneva-2 conference but also doing their best to disrupt it.
Lavrov added that some countries were disappointed and failed to contain their emotions when the Russian American initiative on destroying Syrian chemical weapons was declared.
