Iran to Attend Turkmenistan Oil, Gas Exhibition

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Many Iranian oil and gas firms and the country’s Petroleum Ministry together with its subsidiary companies are scheduled to take part in the 18th International Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan 2013" to be held from November 19 to 21.

“Participation of the Iranian firms at 'the 18th International Exhibition Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan' provide a good opportunity for such companies to showcase their capabilities in different fields,” the marketing and relations regulator of the Iran Exports Promotion Organization, Reza Towfiqi, said in Isfahan on Monday.

He said Iran needs to get a bigger share in the technical-engineering services sector, adding that Turkmenistan, which has massive gas reserves and is a major gas producer in the region, can provide good opportunities for Iranian firms and give them a secure foothold and platform to enter global markets.   

The 18th International Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan 2013" will take place in the National Exhibition Centre of Turkmenistan, Sergi Kosgi.

"Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan", quickly turned to the big economic forum with participation of appropriate highly qualified specialists, has been organized annually for the interested visitors, who are normally oil and gas experts and technocrats from across the region and around the globe.

Today the annual forum enjoys broad recognition and an imposing status both in geographic and in sector-specific senses, steadily attracting numerous participants from dozens of countries.

Numerous foreign companies from Austria, Britain, Germany, the United States, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Japan, Turkey, Iran, China, India, UAE And other countries have arranged their pavilions at this year’s exhibition.

Based on data from BP, at the end of 2009 proved gas reserves were dominated by three countries:Iran, Russia, and Qatar, which together held nearly half the world's proven reserves, with Turkmenistan coming in the fourth place with some 17.5 trillion cubic meters of natural gas reserves.
