MP: Iran Will Never Bow to Bullies

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Vice Speaker of Iran's parliament said that the Iranian nation will never yield to the hegemony and bullying of some western countries and that the country will not retreat from its values and principles.

Iran proved its resolve and determination in the Geneva talks, said Mohammad Hassan Aboutaribifard on Monday, adding that the Iranian nation will never yield to the western pressure and hegemony.

He said that Iran’s might and steadfastness was evident during the Geneva talks and the world nations noticed that the Iranian nation would never retreat even the slightest bit from its fundamentals and values because of the imposed pressures and sanctions.

Iran has been under numerous rounds of sanctions by the US and some other western countries, some of which date back to more than three decades ago.

A marathon round of international talks in Geneva fell short of a widely anticipated deal early Sunday after French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius objected, saying the terms of a preliminary accord were too easy on Tehran.

Fabius broke an informal rule of the six-nation diplomatic group that has been negotiating with the Iranians by going public with his criticism of the preliminary deal, which was aimed at opening the way for comprehensive negotiations over the nuclear program.

Tehran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany will continue their nuclear negotiations in Geneva on November 20.
