Lebanese Parliament Speaker to Meet Iranian Counterpart, President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Lebanese parliament speaker, who arrived in Tehran on Sunday afternoon, is scheduled to meet the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Monday, a parliamentary adviser said on Sunday.

The Lebanese Parliament Speaker's meeting with his Iranian counterpart is scheduled for 10:30 local time tomorrow morning, Larijani’s Adviser for the International Affairs Hossein Sheikholeslam told the Tasnim News Agency.

He said that Nabih Berri will also meet President Rouhani, a number of Iranian officials and parliamentarians.

On Saturday, President Rouhani pledged to make all-out efforts to further bolster Tehran-Beirut relations two days ago.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran will spare no effort to boost ties with the Lebanese Republic in line with the mutual interests of both nations," Rouhani said in a message to his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman.

The Iranian president also expressed confidence that Lebanon will become a more stable, secure and developed country through the prudence of Lebanese authorities and the political groups.
