Iran's President, First VP Felicitate Albania's National Day
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani, in a message to his Albanian counterpart on Thursday, congratulated the Albanian government and nation on the country’s national day.
In his message to Albania’s President Bujar Faik Nishani, the Iranian president pointed to the historic ties between the two nations and the start of new governments in both countries, and called for the expansion of bilateral relations in all political, economic and cultural fields.
He also called for closer cooperation between the two sides on the international scene.
Also, the Iranian first vice-president sent a felicitation message to Prime Minister Edi Rama, and asked for all-out expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and Albania.
The day for Albanian Declaration of Independence is that country’s national day, marking the independence of Albania from the former Ottoman Empire.
The Independence of Albania was proclaimed in Vlore on 28 November 1912.
