Esteghlal Draw Is Fair, Amir Ghalenoei Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal soccer team coach, Amir Ghalenoei, said that his team's AFC Champions League draw is fair.
Esteghlal has been grouped with Qatar’s Al Rayyan, Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates and Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia.
“The participant teams are highly motivated and we are also motivated for the competitions. The matches will be held in the best fields and I believe that all players will be affected by the quality of the competitions,” Ghalenoei told Esteghlal FC official site.
“I think Esteghlal group is not difficult, however is not an easy group as well. We are going to do our best in the group stage matches. All participant teams are professional and they will take part in the event with different types of motivations,” Esteghlal coach added.
Iran’s Esteghlal failed to reach last season’s AFC Champions League final after it was beaten by FC Seoul of South Korea 4-2 on aggregate.
