Iran Urges Wisdom for Resolving Syrian Crisis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Regional disputes, including the Syrian crisis, should be resolved through wisdom and realistic approaches, the Iranian foreign minister said.
The issue was raised by Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with Jordanian Prime Minister Abdollah Ensour on Tuesday evening.
During the meeting, the two countries’ top officials exchanged views on issues of mutual interests, bilateral relations, regional and international developments.
Zarif , for his part, said that the conditions in the region are very sensitive today, and underlined the dire need for collective, comprehensive campaign against extremism, terrorism and sectarian violence.
“We must move towards finding solutions which would prevent terrorism from further expansion and growth,” said the Iranian top diplomat.
As regards Iran-Jordan relations, Zarif welcomed the opening of a new chapter in the two Islamic countries’ relations.
The Jordan’s Prime Minister Ensour, too, referred to the two countries’ commonalties and common interests, and called for further expansion of relations with Tehran.
