Italians, Europeans Invited to Invest in Iran's Anzali Free Zone

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Italian and other European investors will be invited to invest in Anzali Free Zone, north of Iran, head of a group of European investors said on Saturday.

“The geographical position of the Anzali Free Zone as an international transit path and the legal privileges in the AFZ are among the attractive factors for the foreign investors,” Walter Favil said in a meeting with the Managing Director on Anzali Free Zone.

“I invite the Italian investors to visit the various sectors of the region and utilize the investment opportunities available in the zone,” he said.

Anzali Free Zone includes range area of Anzali city with approximately 3200 hectares of land and waters to a depth of two kilometers from the coastal range.

Last week, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said the conditions are favorable today for attracting investments in all sectors of the Iranian economy.

President Rouhani made the comment in a meeting with Chairman of the Davos World Economic Forum Professor Klaus Schwab.

Ground is properly prepared for making investment in all economic sectors in Iran, Rouhani stated.

He said that Iran considers Davos as an appropriate opportunity to introduce the high potential of the Iranian economy to all participants in the high level international economic gathering.
