Iran Handball Books World Championship Place
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran booked a place in the 2015 IHF World Men's Handball Championship on Sunday.
In the match held at the Khalifa Sports City's Hall in Manama, Bahrain, Iran snatched a morale-boosting 30-30 draw against the host in Group A of the 16th Asian Senior Men's Handball Championship.
South Korea defeated Saudi Arabia 28-24 in the group .
Iran is scheduled to face Qatar, which has already advanced to World Championship, in semi-final round on Tuesday.
Kuwait, Japan, the UAE and Oman are also vying to book a place in the World Championship.
The top four finishers all get a place in the 2015 IHF World Men's Handball Championship which will be held with the participation of 24 teams in Qatar from January 17 to February 1 2015.
