IFF Reaches Initial Agreement with Carlos Queiroz

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran Football Federation (IFF) reached an initial agreement with Carlos Queiroz to continue coaching Iran beyond this summer.

Earlier reports had said that Queiroz has reached an agreement with South Africa Football Association (SAFA). According to a source close to SAFA the Portuguese is set to join South Africa after the 2014 World Cup.

However, Danny Jordaan, SAFA President, denied that they have been in contact with the former Real Madrid manager, saying they have not talked to him as a replacement for South Africa current coach Gordon Igesund.

At the session held on Wednesday at Iran Football Federation, IFF president Ali Kaffashian and Carlos Queiroz talked about different issue to continue the cooperation.

Further details of the agreement will be announced.

Earlier, Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, the general secretary of Iran Football Federation (IFF), had said that Queiroz will lead Iran in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Speaking to Iranian Jaam-e-Jam TV network on Tuesday, Nabi and said, “Queiroz will certainly head Iran football team until the end of the 2015 AFC Asian Cup."
