Iran Produces over 58mln Tons of Cement in 10 Months
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has produced 58.26 million tons of cement during the past ten months of the current Iranian year (March 2013 - January 2014), an Iranian industrialist announced on Wednesday.
Secretary of Iran's Cement Industry Employers Abdolreza Sheikhan said that the country has produced 3.98 million tons of cement during the last Iranian month (December 22, 2013 to January 19, 2014).
As regards production of clinker, Sheikhan said 60.64 million tons of clinker has been produced during the past ten months, adding that the figure shows a 3.6% growth compared with the same period last year.
He said that Iran has produced 5.8 tons of clinker in the last Iranian month of Dey, showing an 11.6% increase compared with the same period last year.
Iran is the top producer of cement in the Middle East, the IRIB had quoted Sheikhan as saying earlier on Octoebr.
The country ranks fourth in the world, he added.
